70 Series -
AT6m (Modified)
- Development Log
Development of the Proof-of-Concept Began in April 2004
NOTES:
-
The scale of the Proof-Of-Concept is NOT to the Final-Scale. A slight
increase in scale was needed to increase the cockpit size.
-
The method of development used back then is no longer used.
-
"M" Stands for Modified - we had to modify the body to accomodate a full scale
pilot & passenger.
-
Original concept of this aircraft was to be a real-life training aircraft as was
the original.
-
The planned Aircraft:
-
Metal inner structure with Plywood Formers
-
Plywood Skinned
-
Aircraft could be modified to meet "Light Sport" LSA requirements
-
Investment: Available for this project
-
Status: Currently pending investment
DRAWINGS

April-2004 70 Series - AT6m Project
Original drawings were done on the drafting table and were not ever
transfered to CAD. If this project were to be re-started, the
drawings would be drawn/modeled in SolidWorks. NOTE: The
drafting equipment used to sketch the drawings for this project was used during
WWII to design tanks.
|
LANDING GEAR DEVELOPMENT
The landing gear research started at Oshkosh, Airventure Airshow in 2003.
I studied the real landing gear and I also researched the landing gear used by
WAR AIrcraft Replicas.

FUSE DEVELOPMENT
2004 70 Series - AT6m Project
Original drawings were done on the drafting table and were not ever
transfered to CAD. If this project were to be re-started, the
drawings would be drawn/modeled in SolidWorks. NOTE: The
drafting equipment used to sketch the drawings for this project was used during
WWII to design tanks.
The last picutres show an internal Wooden frame that is used inside of a WAR
Aircraft Replicas Corsair. The frame is placed on the AT6m' s Center
Alignment Decking to give you an idea of just how much bigger the AT6m will be.
|
HORIZONTAL STABILIZER DEVELOPMENT
2004 70 Series - AT6m Project
I used a center sheet and then added foam to each one of the rib so there was
some sufrace for the plywood skin to bond to. Unfortunately, I do not have
any pictures of the finished stabilizer The concept work better than
expected.
|
WING DEVELOPMENT
2004 70 Series - AT6m Project
The wing was the most fun to build. The airfoil is a GA Airfoil and the
Spars were cut in after each was made. The master rib was
screwed into the table and then each rib was routered. the spar slots were
added later after I estimated where the best place would be for them.

F2G-1 No Longer Just a Concept!
We were approached this week by two engineers that were
also getting ready to start an F2G-1 Corsair for the primary purpose of racing.
After several hours of discussion, it was decided to merge our efforts into one
project.
The new aircraft will be roughly 75% and will a two seater designed around a 900
HP engine.
We are currently concentrating on fund raising.
More news to come! |

F2G Concept Promotional Airplane Update
RT Foster
is an extremely well know artist known for his Bomber nose-art and his work is
featured all types of aircraft. Mr. Foster and his daughter have agreed to do
the concept artwork for a 'possible' future presentation to Marathon. |
17-May-2009 The Bearcat was pulled from
storage and the dimensions were checked to see just how much larger the aircraft
would be if we mounted a
Rotec R3600 rather than the
Rotec R2800 that was originally planned. ...more details
later.

10-May-2009 The Japanese Zero Plans that were started 2 years ago were
pulled out of storage due to the possibility we may need to build several for
Jolly Roger's movie. |
