Back Ground Information

The owner passed away in April 2009 and the aircraft is currently being held in an estate which is operated by the family.  The price was set by an official aircraft estimator and set to a fair estimated value of the aircraft at the time the aircraft was offered to the public in 2009.

Prior to being offered for sale, the wing was sent out to be re-Skinned by Priebe Airport.  The owner of Priebe Airport failed to return the wing prior to going out of business and all attempts to contact the airport owners have failed.   The price of the aircraft was adjusted accordingly.

Plans for a replacement wing can be purchased from Airdrome Aeroplanes

The plane was built in Wisconsin by Isaac Weix in 1999.  The aircraft has an empty weight of 380 lbs and a gross weight of 650 lbs. The official Vne of this aircraft with it's original main wing was 120 mph which exceeds the design spec.

The previous owner was a propeller specialist and he well matched the propeller to the Hirth Engine which replaced the original Lycoming 145B.   I don't remember the exact engine model, but I believe the engine to be the 100 Hp model.

The aircraft was know to be a good and gentle flying aircraft.

The aircraft was stored under cover outside and will need some touch-ups with the paint and the control cables checked closely.

The build log and data plates are intact and will be included.

Conclusion:

If you can build a new main wing and have good basic maintenace skills, you can get this bird flying again.

Considering the aircraft was stored outside, she's in fair to good shape, you will find the asking price to be well worth a look-see.

16-Sept-2009    F2G-1 No Longer Just a Concept!
We were approached this week by two engineers that were also getting ready to start an F2G-1 Corsair for the primary purpose of racing.  After several hours of discussion, it was decided to merge our efforts into one project.

The new aircraft will be roughly 75% and will a two seater designed around a 900 HP engine.

We are currently concentrating on fund raising.

More news to come!
1-Sept-2009    F2G Concept Promotional Airplane Update
RT Foster is an extremely well know artist known for his Bomber nose-art and his work is featured all types of aircraft.  Mr. Foster and his daughter have agreed to do the concept artwork for a 'possible' future presentation to Marathon.
17-May-2009  The Bearcat was pulled from storage and the dimensions were checked to see just how much larger the aircraft would be if we mounted a Rotec R3600 rather than the Rotec R2800 that was originally planned.   ...more details later.
10-May-2009 The Japanese Zero Plans that were started 2 years ago were pulled out of storage due to the possibility we may need to build several for Jolly Roger's movie.
