JU87 Stuka
| Direction: |
The Stuka was chosen to be our first Light Sport Aircraft (LSA)
and because it has two seats. The Model Scale (MS) will be done in-house
with help from our Rapid Protyping partner. The parts for the Final Scale
(FS) will be sent to Volunteer Designer/Builder Charlie Zue,
member of the Replica Fighters Association (RFA), who will build it
at the same time we do and make design changes in his shop and relay those
changes back to us. |

Fuse design started last year when we were playing with the idea; however we made huge progress and should have the body in a 3D model by the end of summer.

Currently we are looking at various airfoils and size of wing to give us the proper wing loading.
We are currently considering GA35A315 at the root and ending with GA35A312 at
the tip.
Next Steps:
(1) After getting the Wing Loading generally figured out, we will then place the necessary wing ribs into place and then start the 3D Model.
(2) When the model looks good, we will send the model out to a Rapid Prototyping partner who will cut the entire wing in foam.

Facility News
UPDATE: The est. costs on a new building were far too out of my reach and I'm not willing to borrow $300,000.
So we will be reconsidering renting again if we can find something reasonable.

Facility Update!
I contacted my builder today and he's telling me that the bid package and designs will be done this week for the new facility.

Into storage we go!
It was getting clear to us the current facility was getting too small and our lease was at an end.
So we moved into a storage facility until we could build or find a larger place to rent.
